When Sami walked down the aisle, Mitch's chest rose quick as she caught his eye. He wiped a tear from his cheek.
His focus was only on her.
His mom gripped her hankie, his parents sitting side by side, everyone close enough to reach out and touch - and they did.

Her dad gripped his speech on crinkled copy paper, and it was one of the sweetest shots I caught right before his speech. It's not aesthetic. It's not necessarily artistic. It's not even Times New Roman. But it's a father's heart laid bare in front of his trembling hands, and it's the truest gift he had to give.
